Baby in Fathers Arms

Support once baby arrives

I offer unwavering support to you and your family, immediately after birth and in the weeks to follow. We'll stay in close contact to check how you’re doing, and I can step in with anything you might need.

This can include:

-Helping to inform and support you in terms of your aftercare, stitches, pain management, and the emotional rollercoaster that follows birth

- I can help support you with setting boundaries with other people, visitors and well-meaning guests who may cause you anxiety

- I can support you with registering the birth, ensuring your child benefit is in order and checking if you're entitled to any other financial help

- Household chores such as cleaning, cooking, shopping, taking the dog out, picking up older children from school etc.

- I can be there during your first trip out with baby, which can be daunting!

- We'll discuss your mental health, how you're finding parenthood, how it has affected your relationship with your partner, and I'll guide you to extra support if that is something you need

- I can show you what 'normal' newborn behaviour looks like, and reassure you that your baby is not broken!

- We can discuss feeding, sleeping, bathing, and common newborn ailments

- I offer various different placenta memoir packages

- I'll take time with your partner and other children, to check in on their thoughts and feelings. A new baby is a big change for anyone, and I offer my support to everyone involved

- Various holistic services and treatments

- I can signpost you to support networks and baby groups in your local area, and I'll even come with you!

Some say it takes a village to raise a baby, but sometimes that village is just a little too far away. My role is to bridge the gap, and help you to learn that nurturing and loving your baby is deeply embedded in your whole being. Doulas hold the mother, not the baby - you'll probably just want to curl up with your infant and let the world pass you by, and this is something I want to give every parent the opportunity to experience.
